Construct a brief biography of a current Supreme Court Justice.

There are, of course, nine Justices of the Supreme Court
of the United States.  The one who was most recently appointed is Elena Kagan.  Kagan
has been a member of the Supreme Court since August of
2010.

Kagan was unlike most Supreme Court justices in that
she had no previous judicial experience when she was appointed to the Court by Pres.
Obama.  Kagan did serve as a clerk for judges of both the Supreme Court and a federal
Court of Appeals.  However, after that, she became a legal scholar and professor.  She
worked in government as a lawyer and later an advisor in the Clinton White House and
then as Solicitor General for Pres. Obama.

Kagan was born
in 1960 and is the Court's 4th female justice and 8th Jewish
justice.
