Marxists believe that capitalism is an inherently
exploitative system. They believe that capitalists, if left to do what they want to do,
will abuse their workers and will essentially take the wealth created by the workers and
keep it for themselves. They believe that capitalists will act in ways that will help
themselves and hurt society. For this reason, they believe that economies must be
closely regulated by the government. A government-run economy will, they say, work for
the benefit of the collective (of all the people) rather than for the benefit of a very
few.
Once you understand this, you should see that B is the
correct answer. These statements are the ones that reflect the idea that the government
must run the economy for the benefit of the collective
population.
