what are the roots of the equation: 2x^2-5x+1=0

Given the quadratic
equation:

2x^2 - 5x + 1 = 0

We
will use the quadratic formula to find the
roots.

==> x = [ -b +- sqrt(b^2 -
4ac)]/2a

==> a = 2    b= -5      c =
1

==> x1= [ 5 + sqrt(25-8)]/ 4 = [ 5+
sqrt17]/4

==> x2=
(5-sqrt17)/4

Then the roots
are:

x = { (5+sqrt17)/4   ,    (5-sqrt17)/4
}
