Sugar is an example of a compound, while koolaid is an
example of a homogeneous mixture (more specifically, a
solution).
A compound is a combination of 2 or more
different kinds of atoms chemically bonded in a set
ratio.
A mixture is a combination of 2 or more substances.
When the mixture is homogeneous, the substances are evenly mixed throughout. In a
solution, one substance (the solute) dissolves into another (the solvent), which means
that the solute breaks down into such small particles that it can't be seen anymore.
Both the solute and the solvent keep their original properties.
