Jenna bought 2 books and 3 DVDs for $91. Mary bought 1 book and 2 DVDs for $52 . What is the price of the DVD ?

Let the price of the book be B and the price of the DVD be
D.

Given that 2 books and 3 DVDs costs
91

==> 2B + 3D = 91
..............(1)

Also, given that the cost is 1 book and 2
DVDs is 52.

==> B + 2D =
52

==> B = 52- 2D
...............(2)

To solve we will substitute (2) into
(1).

==> 2(52-2D) + 3D =
91

==> 104 - 4D + 3D =
91

==> D = 104 - 91 =
13

Then the price of the DVD is $ 13
.
