Solve the following only by SUBSTITUTION method: x=y-6 and 3x+2y=2

  The  given  equations
are:

x = y - 6                            ...
(1)

3x + 2y = 2                       ...
 (2)

Substituting  (1)  in  (2),  we
get

        3(y-6) + 2y =
2

=>    3y - 18 + 2y =
2

=>    5y - 18 =

=>    5y = 2 +
18

=>    5y =
20

=>    y = 4
... (3)

Substituting  y = 4  in(1),  we
get

x = 4 - 6,   that  is  x = -2             ...
(4)

From (3)  and  (4),  X = -2   AND  Y =
4
.
