same).
Consider x as being the number of basket
of strawberries produced. He sells only 85%, so he will sell 0.85*x. Also, he sells each
basket for 2.40. Finally, the costs of production are 0.80 cents a basket, so we must do
0.80*x as the total costs.
The equation will
be:
(0.85*2.40)*x - 0.80*x =
2480
2.04*x - 0.80*x = 2480 ::
subtracting
1.24*x = 2480 :: dividing the second part by
1.24
x = 2000
So
the answer is 2000 baskets.
