How does the quote "Without rules to control us, we regress to savage behaviours" relate to "Lord of the Flies"?Examples?

Well this question goes to the essence of what becomes of
the majority of the boys in Lord of the
Flies.

Jack is a prime example of how the boys
regress into savage behaviors. He is a part of a group of boys who are in a choir and
seemingly have strict rules at their school. However, once the boys establish a lack of
authority on the island, Jack takes over and they find amusement and entertainment by
killing animals and playing at killing each other. Jack recruits other boys on the
island to partake in their savage games because it is enjoyable. The boys do not wish to
govern themselves and create rules because it is not
fun.

Ralph, conversely, tries to make rules, follow rules
and find ways to get off the island. He struggles to keep to the strict rules on the
island because the temptations of being savage are enticing. Once, he gives in, and
Simon ends up dead at the hands of Jack's group.
