Who was Martin Luther King Jr.?No

Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most famous civil rights
leader of the Civil Rights Movement that occurred in the United States during the late
1950s and the 1960s.  Dr. King was the main face of the movement during the period in
which the movement concentrated on protests and civil disobedience to achieve its
goals.

Dr. King was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia.  His
father was a minister and King himself would become a minister later in life.  King came
to prominence during the Montgomery (Alabama) Bus Boycott of 1955 to 1956.  King's work
in leading that boycott led to him and others creating the Southern Christian Leadership
Conference, which was one of the major civil rights organizations during the Civil
Rights Movement.

King is perhaps most famous for his "I
Have a Dream" speech that was delivered during the March on Washington in
1963.

King was assassinated in 1968.  He is now honored by
a national holiday that is celebrated near to his birthday in
January.
